MESHUGGAH: 'Bleed' Video Available
May 14, 2008MESHUGGAH's video for the song "Bleed" can be viewed below. The clip was produced by Ian McFarland and was written, directed and edited by Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland. It boasts a fittingly-cinematic horror tone, and some genuine scares seriously!
Killswitch Productions had this to say: "Working with MESHUGGAH was truly an honor for us. It's extremely cool to work with a band who is willing to allow the music and imagery to speak for itself and who does not insist on themselves being the prominent focus of the video. I think that takes real balls and I admire them as a group for doing so."
"Bleed" comes off MESHUGGAH's latest album, "obZen", which sold 11,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 59 on The Billboard 200 chart. This is substantially more than the 7,000 first-week total achieved by its predecessor, "Catch 33", which landed at No. 170 on The Billboard 200 chart back in June 2005.
In a recent interview with Gravemusic.com, MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake stated about "Bleed", "The reason I am most proud of [that track] is that for all of us, now that we are performing it live, some nights it doesn't quite work all the way but we make it work. It's getting better by the day though. It was a big effort for me to learn, I had to find a totally new approach to playing the double bass drums to be able to do that stuff. I had never really done anything like that before like the fast bursts that go all the way through the song basically. So I actually spent as much time practicing that track alone as I did with all of the other tracks combined. It's kind of a big feat to change your approach like that and I'm glad we were able to nail it for the album. For a while threw we didn't even know if it was going to make it to the album."
